Luca Serra is a Scottish Book Trust New Writers Award awardee. This is Home is his first novel. Writing 'This Is Home' has been a journey of fond reflection. It has given me the opportunity to share the fascinating stories of people I've met since moving to the UK. It has also allowed me to explore questions: what is home? And what does it mean to belong?
This is Home is a constantly changing exploration of friendship, belonging and what it means to forge your place in the world far away from home.

Moby-Dick returns to Fife
Whale-watching in the Forth meets Herman Melville, the American author of Moby-Dick, whose Fife ancestry is becoming better known.
In association with the Aberdour Cultural Association we are pleased to present an evening of whale talk, music and discussion – where past, present and future whale-related activities link arts and sciences across Fife – with citizen scientist Ronnie Mackie, cultural historian and author Dr Tom Hubbard, and sculptor Kenny Munro
From Pictish carvings of dolphins and whales to contemporary artistic responses, we can see how creativity relates to concerns about our relationship with the marine environment.
In recent years, Kinghorn has become an international hub for whale-watching and this is inspiring many creative projects and inspiring a Public Art Literary Trail across Fife. Tonight’s panel will explore Fife’s international cultural connections, with a short film about Melville’s visit to Scotland in 1856, as well as an introduction to existing and planned projects, and the chance for audience members to suggest future initiatives.

A Blether and a Bevvy – Arthur Lloyd – Aberdour – A Walk Through History
We invite you, from the comfort of your seat, on a filmed walk through the village of Aberdour, where every street, building and boundary tells a story. The layout of roads, the position of homes, and the marks left by landowners, communities and industry all reveal a living history formed over hundreds of years. Skipinnish
After an epic debut at the Aberdour Festival in 2023, Skipinnish cannot wait to return this year! They will be supported by Cloud House.
Since Skipinnish hit the Scottish music scene in 1999, their rise has been an inspiring tale of a tiny acorn becoming a mighty oak! From pub gigs and ceilidhs in the beginning, their mix of anthemic songs and powering melody has seen them fill the biggest and best venues in the country. In 2024 they celebrated their 25th birthday with a televised concert at Edinburgh Castle, playing to over 8000 fans and in September 2025 they headlined Scotland’s biggest arena with a show at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow.
In 2024 the band won “Event of the Year” at the Scottish Trad Music Awards for their Edinburgh Castle concert and in 2025 they received the prestigious Sound of Scotland Award at the Nordoff and Robin Scottish Music Awards.
Skipinnish has constantly evolved and grown over the years and 2026 will see some exciting additions and changes as they continue to give audiences the euphoric joy that their music brings to a wonderful and ever-growing fanbase.
Skipinnish are buzzing to bring Walking on the Waves, The Island, Alive, Last of the Hunters, The Hag and all other Skipinnish favourites and some exciting new songs and tunes to the Festival and many other concerts across the country in 2026 and beyond!
Cloud House continue to grow their reputation as an exciting, festival-ready indie rock band. The Glasgow five-piece have earned comparisons to Sam Fender and The 1975 with their catchy, heartbreakingly honest songs, laden with guitar hooks and saxophone melodies. Described as "rising, rousing indie rock" by The Clash Magazine, they have been selected as BBC Scotland’s Track of the Week a record three times. 2025 saw the band play memorable sets at Heartland Festival, The Sound of Iona Music Festival, and their first Tenement Trail, before capping the year off with a headline show at Glasgow's Drygate Brewery.

The HAUGH+CROSS :-: Cyclocross Festival
Expect fast racing, festival vibes, cowbells, chaos, and one of the most fun days at the Aberdour Festival and on the cyclocross calendar.
New for 2026, the Dual Slalom Showdown kicks things off, followed by A and B races where riders go head-to-head in an open format, with the top 30 from each race progressing to the finale—the final race of the day.
Also new is the Family Relay, alongside kids' racing in association with Carnegie Cyclones. There will be a fleet of demo bikes for both kids and adults, plus a dedicated demo track.
Enter now for a full day of racing, great food and coffee, beers and fizz, and a full-on festival atmosphere.

Village Sports Day
On your marks! Get set! GO!
Head over to the Markee for fun races. There are novelty races for all ages and all levels of fitness, and a chance to compete for the traditional Aberdour village trophies for the more competitive athletes! The day will be capped off with the annual Easter vs Wester Tug o’ War contests.
Please note, Festival rules dictate that only Aberdour residents and pupils at Aberdour Primary School can be awarded trophies.
A BBQ and the Markee Bar (from midday) and Tuck Shop will be open for participants and spectators alike
Fife’s Future Rock Stars
Local guitar tutor, Nic Holson, returns to the Aberdour Festival for the third year in a row to host an afternoon of performances with his students, covering a wide range of genres from old classics to modern hits.
All the performers will be joined by Nic’s band, Stay For Tomorrow, to provide each student with the unique opportunity to play live on stage with other musicians.
Stay For Tomorrow will then take to the stage to perform an electrifying show, to allow those who usually are not able to attend 18+ venues a chance to witness the magic of live music.
Abbey Social, Presents: Stu Bell & Aidan Davis
Two of Fife’s top solo artists in one show!
Tickets available online at www.abbeysocial.co.uk

With recorded music and a great caller- no experience necessary!
For those who are a wee bit young for the Family Ceilidh. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
