Crowning
Start your day off by coming to the marquee to celebrate the crowning of this year’s Royal Party by Aberdour’s one and only Lisa Norman. This has been an amazing year for Lisa, with Aberdour Shinty Club celebrating their Silver Jubilee, the club founded by Lisa in 2001. Having lifted 3 major youth competitions last year and inspiring many youngsters over the years to pick up a caman, she was awarded the 2025 Mowi Youth Coach of the Year by the Camanachd Association. We are delighted that she will officiate at the crowning this year.
We have four wonderful Primary 7 pupils who are excited to bring a Royal presence to this year’s festivities. We will welcome the Festival Queen, Io, with her Attendant Holly, and the Festival King, Jamie, with his Attendant Leone. Come and join them as they are officially crowned – the Royal Party of the 42nd year of the Aberdour Festival!
Parade
Join Aberdour’s newly crowned Royal Party as they lead the parade through the village in true majestic style to the sounds of the wonderful Dysart Colliery Brass Band. We are thrilled to welcome back this brass band, to help us kick off our 42nd Festival in true party spirit. Join the fabulously colourful crowd and if you wish, dress up to celebrate the 2026 Commonwealth Games. There will be prizes for the best costumes!
Join us for the Crowning at the Festival Marquee, after which the parade will proceed along Hawkcraig Road up to Main Street, turn left and walk along the High Street to Dovecot Gates. There we will turn around and walk back along the High Street, turning right at Shore Road, and finishing our parade at Black Sands Beach, just in time to register for the spectacular sandcastle competition and join the queue for your first Festival burger of the year!
Raft Race
Once the sandcastle competition has been judged, it’s time to grab a drink and a 4th burger before the Raft Race. 3pm til 4pm - Raft Race preparations and kids sock wrestling competition**. 4pm Race starts. Hope everyone can stay to cheer on your favourite raft sailing round under the watchful eye of the amazing […]

Foo Fifers & the Vexations
The Vexations Edinburgh’s Vexations are a band who wear their intent proudly. Formed in 2023, this four-piece deal in frenetic, off-kilter post-punk: with vocals that shift between hypnotic spoken word and full-throated rock. Their debut EP A Dream Unearthly, released in late 2025 on Cruel Nature Records, drawing praise from BBC Radio Introducing and the […]

Comedy Night
The Aberdour Festival in association with Mirth of Forth productions are delighted once again to present an evening of comedy with award-winning comedian, writer and actor Ray Bradshaw supported by David Eagle and compered by Susan Morrison.
Ray Bradshaw is an international, multi award-winning stand-up comedian who has sold out shows globally. Ray was handpicked to support John Bishop on his recent UK arena tour and has previously supported Frankie Boyle on his last two tours.
His own previous three tour shows have been performed in both English and British Sign Language; the first, Deaf Comedy Fam, was a huge success and won awards both in the UK and Australia, leading Ray to become the first comedian ever to win a Scottish Culture Show Award.
His most recent show Deaf Com One did a 60-date tour in the Uk, Australia and New Zealand and resulted in nearly 800 deaf audience members coming to their first ever stand-up show.
Ray is also a regular host of the hit Radio Scotland show Off the Ball.
David is a member of three-time BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winning band The Young’uns. In 2018 he branched out into stand up and is now a Radio 4 regular, with his own stand-up series ‘See No Eagle’ and multiple appearances on The Now Show. In 2024 he made his TV debut, performing stand up on Dave’s “Rosie Jones’s Disability Comedy Extravaganza”. His stand up explores how being blind often transforms everyday life into surreal, surprising comic adventures. One of his accordion-driven songs was described in The Guardian as "a comic tour de force." He has won numerous awards including The Spirit Of The Fringe Award at 2024’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival and his debut solo show, The Eagle Is Candid, won Best Variety Show at Leicester Comedy Festival and was nominated for Best Show at Edinburgh Fringe. In 2019 he was crowned New Comedian Of The Year by Leicester Square Theatre, and at both Bath and Nottingham Comedy Festivals.
The evening will be compered by award-winning Scottish comedian Susan Morrison. Susan has been an MC at The Stand Comedy club since the day it opened, and she has taken to the stage in clubs from Bournemouth to Berlin. She is a writer, broadcaster and comedian with two grown-up children and a very patient husband. She's rubbish at organising, has a complete lack of self-discipline, is utterly terrible at most things house-work related, but she does like ironing. Denies she is obsessed with the sinking of the RMS Titanic, but she is!
