Aberdour Festival is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and vulnerable adults at all its events.
Our commitment
Everyone has the right to enjoy the festival safely and free from harm. Aberdour Festival takes a zero-tolerance approach to abuse and neglect of any kind. All volunteers, staff and organisers share a collective responsibility for safeguarding, and we are committed to creating an environment where everyone — whatever their age or background — feels safe, respected and welcome.
Who this applies to
Our safeguarding responsibilities extend to everyone who takes part in or attends the festival.
Children & young people
The safety of children and young people attending or participating in the festival is a paramount concern.
Vulnerable adults
We take seriously our duty of care to all adults who may be at risk, ensuring they can take part safely and with dignity.
Volunteers, staff & performers
Everyone working at or performing during the festival is expected to uphold and actively support our safeguarding commitments.
Raising a concern
If you have a concern about the safety or wellbeing of a child or vulnerable adult at the festival, please speak to a member of festival staff immediately.
In an emergency, or if someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
