Parents and Guardians

Families

For parents & guardians

Aberdour Festival is a genuinely family event — ten days of music, arts and community across the whole village, with plenty designed with children in mind. Here's everything families need to know.

A festival for the whole family

Aberdour Festival has always been a welcoming place for families. From the beach to the village centre, the atmosphere is warm, inclusive and relaxed — the kind of festival where children and grown-ups alike find something to love.
Look out for family highlights across the ten days — including Beach Day and Market Day, which are always a hit with younger visitors.

Keeping children safe

Children remain the responsibility of their parent or guardian at all times and must be accompanied and appropriately supervised at festival events. Please keep an eye on little ones in busy areas, and make sure children know who to come to if they need help.
If a child becomes separated from their group, please speak to any festival staff member or volunteer immediately. {FOR ADMIN: lost child / meeting point procedure — confirm location and process with your safeguarding lead before publishing.}
Aberdour Festival takes its responsibilities seriously. You can read our full safeguarding policy for more information.

Taking part

Children and under-18s taking part in festival activities — performances, workshops and similar — will need a parent or guardian's consent before they can join in. Where a consent form is required, you'll be able to complete it online in advance.

The Way our Ticket sales work

In response to community feedback we're trialling running online ticket sales.

Please note: selecting or adding tickets to your basket does not reserve them. Because many of our events have limited capacity, seats remain available to other customers until payment is completed. Your booking is only reserved once you've paid.

Some events also have tickets for sale from the Box Office or Aberdour Bistro. We reserve the right to cancel and refund tickets if this is necessary.

Please remember that the festival is ran by volunteers. Feedback is welcomed at [email protected].
