On this wildlife haven, with no natural predators, ground nesting and burrowing birds thrived, until humans introduced rats and the birds were decimated. With species on the brink and time fast running out, Team Rat took on the most ambitious eradication project of its time, in one of the most beautiful and unforgiving environments in the world.

Cammy Barnes is Fife’s “singing barber” who reached number one in the World Music iTunes charts with his debut solo single – Chasing Love – has had success with multiple singles charting in the UK Top 20 and #1 entries on the Singer / Songwriter & Country / Alt iTunes Charts. He made his theatre debut in Black Watch for the National Theatre of Scotland and toured the world with the Red Hot Chilli Pipers. He became a household name after reaching the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent.

He has supported Brit award winning artist Tom Walker, played several sellout shows including the prestigious King Tuts in Glasgow and headlined the River Stage at Transmit Festival.

As a former member of Break the Butterfly, Cammy has performed twice before at the Aberdour Festival in 2015 and 2016 so it is great that in our 40th anniversary year we are able to once again showcase Cammy Barnes at this year’s Festival. Cammy will be joined by his four-piece band.

Supporting Cammy Barnes is another singer-songwriter – Rosie Alice – currently living in Glasgow but originally from Fife. Rosie recently released her debut single ‘Best Part of My Day’ in April and will be releasing more exciting music this year with the next single coming out in July.

Headlining the close of the festival this year we have the return of Fife’s own King Creosote with KY10 in support.

Kenny Anderson’s DIY pop alter-ego King Creosote is currently on a UK tour promoting his new Album “I, Des”, and we’ve got him for an intimate 2 person performance combining Kenny’s soulful, witty lyrics with live visual elements.

Fife for lifer, diamond miner, hijacker of hearts, and the man also known as King Creosote has collaborated with the likes of Jon Hopkins, KT Tunstall, Beta Band’s Lone Pigeon, and had his songs covered and performed by artists including Patti Smith and Simple Minds.

Whether playing Belladrum festival, the Usher Hall or the fishing pubs and pottery shops of Crail and Anstruther, the common threads are KC’s singular voice and his roguish, roving, ever-evolving, gorgeous songs in the key of Fife.
